What is a Twitter profile picture?

A Twitter profile picture, often shortened to PFP or avatar, is the circular image that sits at the top of an X (formerly Twitter) profile and next to every tweet the account posts. It is different from the banner (sometimes called the header), which is the wide rectangular image behind the profile picture. This tool returns both images for any public account, so you can download the avatar, the banner, or both.

How to download a Twitter profile picture

Paste any @handle, profile URL, or the username on its own into the box above and Keep will fetch the matching profile. The full-size PFP and banner appear below the form with a Download button, an Open link, and the direct image URL ready to copy. The images are returned at their original upload size, so you get the best quality the account has shared.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Twitter profile picture downloader free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no paywall, and no limit on how many profiles you can look up.

What resolution is the downloaded profile picture?

The avatar is returned at its original upload resolution with the thumbnail suffix stripped off. For most accounts that is 400x400 pixels, and for higher-quality uploads it can be larger. Banners are returned at 1500x500, the largest size X stores.

Can I download someone else's Twitter avatar?

Profile pictures and banners on public accounts are publicly visible, so the images can be downloaded. Be considerate about how you use them. Using someone else's avatar to impersonate them is against X's rules and against the law in many places.

Does the downloader work for Twitter banners (headers) too?

Yes. If the account has a banner image set, the tool shows it in its own section next to the avatar with a Download button, an Open link, and a copyable URL. Accounts with no banner show a short "not set" note instead.

Why does this profile picture look small or blurry?

Blurry avatars usually mean the account uploaded a low-resolution image. X stores the original upload and serves scaled versions from it, so if the original is small the full-size version this tool returns will also be small. There is no way to upscale a Twitter PFP beyond the resolution the owner uploaded.

Can I download a PFP from a private or suspended account?

Private (protected) accounts return their profile picture when the public endpoint can still see them. Suspended, deactivated, or otherwise unavailable accounts return a "not found" error.
